BEFORE THE FIRST GAME:

  • JGB Metro Playdown Fee: $1,400 per team. The top 8 teams in each JGB Division league standings, excluding WI teams, qualify for a double elimination playdown at the Maple Grove Community Center, with 8 teams advancing to the State Tournament. Teams will be seeded by comparing points earned in league play, including FPPs for the three 1st place Division teams, then three 2nd place, then three 3rd place teams, then three 4th place teams, then three 5th place teams, then three 6th place teams, then three 7th place teams, and the three 8th place teams.   • Please bring the Playdown Fee payable to Minnesota Hockey to your first playdown game.


No check, no play.


BEFORE EACH GAME:

  • The Head Coach needs to check in at the Arena Tournament Headquarters before each game to set the roster and sign the GameSheet iPad.


AT EACH GAME:

  • Dressing Area assignments will be posted on monitors.
  • Warm-ups and game pucks will be provided.
  • The home team will provide a clock operator and a home penalty box person.
  • The visiting team will provide a GameSheet scorekeeper and visitor penalty box person.
  • JGHSL will provide iPads for scoring.


AFTER EACH GAME:

  • Score sheets are online and available via GameSheet.
  • Results will be posted on the JGHSL website as games are completed.




JGHSL Playdown Game Procedures:

  • Enter the start and end time of the game on the iPad, along with the scorekeeper's name and cell number
  • Reminder to enter penalty end time
  • Three penalties result in Game Ejection
  • One time-out per game
  • Resurface before each game
  • 4-minute warm-up
  • 3-15 minute periods
  • 1-minute break between 1st & 2nd period
  • 11-minute resurface between 2nd & 3rd period
  • Overtime listed below


 PLAYDOWN BREAKING OF TIES:

The following overtime format shall be used for Playdown and State Tournament games. The teams shall change goals after the third period and stay that way through all overtime periods.  

a. A two-minute rest, then a first sudden victory overtime period – ten minutes – five on five  

b. A two-minute rest, then a second sudden victory overtime period – ten minutes – five on five

c. Resurface the ice, then conduct additional ten-minute sudden victory overtime periods, five on five, with two-minute rests between and resurfacing after every three periods.

d. Refer to the “Ice Resurfacing” paragraph herein for additional resurfacing requirements.


ICE SURFACING:

In playdown and state Minnesota Hockey tournaments, the ice shall be resurfaced before each game and at intermission between the 2nd and 3rd periods. If the game goes into overtime, resurfacing shall occur at the end of the 2nd and every three overtime periods thereafter. The tournament director may use discretion regarding whether resurfacing is needed after an overtime period before the next scheduled game begins.
